There are some families that walk into my studio and immediately leave an imprint on my heart. Jessica and her beautiful family are one of those. Over the years, I’ve had the absolute honor of photographing two maternity sessions, two newborns, a Christmas session, and two cake smashes for them. But this latest session—a military portrait honoring Jessica herself—may just be one of my favorites yet.
Jessica is not just a mother. She is a woman in uniform. A military service member. A leader. And above all, a fierce protector of her family.
This portrait, in particular, tells a story that goes beyond the frame. It speaks of quiet courage—the kind that doesn't shout but simply shows up, day after day.
It’s about legacy, too. Jessica carries forward the service of her family members before her and sets the example for generations after. In this photo, I see strength. I see compassion. And I see a tribute to all the military mothers who juggle the invisible weight of duty and motherhood with such grace.
